When you are looking to sell your home, it’s important to find the right realtor for the job. As Realtors we are entrusted to help sell or buy your home, which is one of the largest if not the largest purchase you may ever make. I am a firm believer in interviewing to find the Realtor you want to work with.

Here are five questions to ask when trying to find the best fit for you.

  1. Are they an Area Expert? How much experience do they have selling homes in your area? It’s important to make sure that the realtor you hire has experience working in the city or region your home is located in. This will ensure that they have an in-depth knowledge of the local market, other local professionals and are will appropriately price your home.
  2. Ask about their marketing plan! These details will tell you how they will market your home to potential buyers? It’s important to understand how the realtor you hire will market your home to gather potential buyers. Ask them how they plan to promote your home so you can get the most exposure and increase your chances of finding a buyer quickly and for top dollar.
  3. Ask for references, or testimonials. What type of feedback did they receive from past clients? A good realtor will have plenty of positive feedback from past clients as well as local vendors. Ask them to provide you with references so you can get an idea of their track record.
  4. What is their negotiation strategy when dealing with potential buyers? Selling a home is a delicate process and requires a strong negotiator. Ask the realtor you are interviewing about their approach to negotiations and how they plan to ensure you get the best price for your home in the current market.
  5. What is their commission and what services are included? Make sure you understand exactly what services the realtor provides and what fees are associated with their services.

By asking these questions during the interview process, you will be able to find the right realtor for the job and ensure that you get the best price for your home.
