Welcome to Norfolk County, located in Southwestern Ontario, this picturesque rural municipality is home to many wonderful attractions and activities. From its quaint towns to its beautiful rolling hills, Norfolk is a great place to visit or live.

Norfolk County was first settled in the early 1800s and has since grown to be one of the most vibrant and diverse communities in Ontario. Home to over 16,000 people, Norfolk County is a unique blend of rural and urban. It is a great place to explore and experience the beauty of the countryside and the convenience of city amenities, and is currently one of the most sought after locations for those looking to enjoy the peaceful life of country living.

One of the most popular attractions in Norfolk County is its beautiful beaches. Long Point Provincial Park and Turkey Point Provincial Park are two of the most visited beaches in the area, with miles of sandy shores and crystal clear waters, delicious local eateries, vacation opportunities and tons of local history to explore. Edging our beautiful province includes additional beaches such as Port Dover, the local attraction on Friday the 13th’s as hundreds of thousands of bikers congregate to celebrate their long standing tradition. Port Ryerse is known for it’s summer fishing excursions while Langton Beach, my personal favourite, is a quiet and shallow beach perfect for families with young kiddos.

With over 10,000 acres of conservation land, there are countless trails to explore, from short day hikes to multi-day backpacking trips, there is something for everyone. The Bruce Trail, which runs through Norfolk County, is one of the most popular trails in the area and reaches all the way to Niagara.

The Norfolk County wine and beer industry is also thriving. With over 15 wineries, vineyards and breweries, there is something to please every palate. From sparkling wines to reds and whites, there are plenty of options to explore. Visiting a local winery is a great way to spend an afternoon, as most of them offer tastings or even tours, or grab your friends and head on a brewery tour highlighting our local brewmasters.

There are also numerous festivals and events throughout the year, such as the Simcoe Street Festival and the Waterford Pumpkin Festival.

Norfolk County has plenty of great dining options. From casual pubs to fine dining restaurants, there is something to please every palate. Be sure to check out some of the local eateries, such as The Old Towne Pub in Simcoe, The Heritage House in Port Dover, and the Sandbar Restaurant in Port Ryerse.

No matter what your interests whether visiting or relocating, Norfolk County is sure to have something to offer. With its beautiful beaches, stunning views of rolling fields and green spaces.
