Let’s Talk About Right-Sizing

Are you considering right-sizing your home? There is a lot of emotion that can be behind this kind of move, and you may be feeling overwhelmed by the thought of even starting, but it doesn’t have to be a stressful one. Working with me and my team of professionals means that any move, large or small is made easy with a couple of simple steps.

  1. Get organized. Before you start the process, take some time to go through your belongings and decide what can stay and what can go. This also helps when you are ready to put your house on the market. Decluttering slowly when you have decided that right is the best approach, so you can really focus your efforts on one space at time.
  2. Decide what is important. Think about what you really need in your new home and what could be sold, donated, or given away. This will help you determine what items you should keep and what you can get rid of right away. Be as rigid as marie kondo as you go through your items.
  3. Give Me a call! I’ll walk through your home and provide you with a current market evaluation, for free, and coach you through the process of getting ready to sell.
  4. Once your home has been evaluated, we can talk about what you need in your next home, and where you want to be. If you are enjoying a little more room thanks to the kids moving out, then maybe you want to be out in the country for some r&r. Or maybe being close to other family members is a priority so the city centre is where you want to be. Consider the size, location, and nearby amenities that you need to make your move as stress-free as possible.
  5. Create a budget. Before we start shopping, let’s make sure your prepared for the future by focusing on finances. If being mortgage free is your goal, let’s see where we can make that a priority.
  6. Let’s make a plan! Now that we know what your home is worth, what your need in your next home, and your budget or financial goals from the move, we will work together to execute the plan from start to finish.

Right-sizing your home doesn’t have to be a negative experience. Think of it as a new opportunity for a new chapter, and betterment of your finances. When your ready, let’s chat.
