Moving out of a home can be a stressful process, especially when you are selling the home. To ensure your buyers have all the necessary items to get settled, there are a few documents and items that should be left for them.

Writing a letter about the community the sellers are moving into is an awesome way of introducing the new home owners to the city or town they have moved to. Included items such as places to eat, grocery stores, donation drop offs and even community support programs.

Owners manuals and warranties for the appliances, windows, and or roof. You can even go a step further to leave them any appliance repair people who may have maintained them previously. This can also include instructions for operating the appliances, and can prove to be a great resource for the new owners.

Finally, leave a copy of the utility bills for the past three months. This will give the new owners an idea of what to expect in terms of electricity, gas, and water bills. These documents are a great resource to any new owners and always appreciated.

By leaving these documents and items for the new owners, you can make their transition into the home a smoother one. If you’re ever unsure of what should be left behind, just check with your real estate agent or attorney to be sure.
